The noninvasive laboratory was established by Dr. Wiley Barker in 1973. From the start the facility has been involved in studying and developing noninvasive procedures and their application to clinical applications. Throughout the years, we have focused on improving the techniques so as to provide the highest accuracy of diagnostic procedures. In 1992 the laboratory became one of the first in the country to be accredited by the Intersocietal Commission for the Accreditation of Vascular Laboratories (ICAVL). Participation in this voluntary review process shows our commitment to maintaining high standards in the quality of testing provided.
The laboratory provides outpatient testing at 200 Medical Plaza Building. Regular hours are 8 AM to 5 PM, work days
Ordering vascular laboratory tests-
There is a dedicated ordering form required to order tests in the vascular laboratory. If you need a supply of the forms, please request these from the lab office (310) 206-6294, option 2. The attending physician must check off the test requested and the indication. The lab will not schedule a test if the indication is not provided. The test can be forwarded by campus mail or by fax.
The laboratory currently has a very heavy load, but efforts will be made to accommodate requests for urgent tests.
