UCLA Gonda (Goldschmied) Vascular Laboratory ICAVL Accreditation

ICAVL was established in 1991 to provide a voluntary accreditation for facilities performing noninvasive vascular testing. The Commission had representation from all of the medical specialties involved in performing vascular tests. The first Standards for noninvasive testing were written and served as a benchmark by which each laboratory could be judged. The Standards cover administration, testing procedures and final interpretation of results. Application of the Standards has helped us review and upgrade the practices in our facility.

Our laboratory was first accredited in 1992 in the testing areas of peripheral arterial, peripheral venous and extracranial cerebrovascular examinations and it remains accredited.
