Juan Carlos Jimenez, MD is currently an assistant professor in the Division of Vascular Surgery at UCLA in Westwood, California. He received his undergraduate degree in Psychology from the University of California at Berkeley in 1994. He received his medical degree from the University of California, Irvine in 1999. He completed his General Surgery training at the University of California, Irvine Medical Center and is Board Certified in General Surgery by the American Board of Surgery. He finished his specialty training in Vascular Surgery at the University of California, Los Angeles and joined the academic faculty at the Gonda (Goldschmied) Vascular Center. He also serves as Chief of Vascular Surgery at UCLA-Olive View Medical Center.

Dr. Jimenez specializes in both minimally invasive and open reconstructive vascular surgery with particular interest in the field of limb salvage. Other clinical interests include treatment of varicose veins and endovascular treatment of both arterial and venous disorders. Along with his clinical practice, Dr. Jimenez also maintains an active interest in surgical research. He performed a research fellowship at the University of California, Irvine with a focus on Tissue Engineering. He is the author of multiple book chapters in both General Surgery and Vascular Surgery textbooks. Dr. Jimenez has presented his original work at multiple national and regional surgical meetings including annual meetings of the Western Vascular Society, Society for Clinical Vascular Surgery, and the Pacific Coast Surgical Association. He has original publications in numerous national and international peer-reviewed journals including Journal of Vascular Surgery, Annals of Vascular Surgery and Archives of Surgery. He is a member of the Longmire Surgical Society and the Connolly Surgery Society as well as both the Society for Vascular Surgery and the Peripheral Vascular Surgery Society. He is the recipient of multiple medical student teaching awards and maintains an active role in surgical education at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA.
