Dr. Honrubia is a Professor at the UCLA Division of Head and Neck Surgery and is Director of the Victor Goodhill Ear Center. Most of Dr. Honrubia’s time is devoted to research on the basic and clinical aspects of inner ear function with regard to hearing and balance.

He is the author of more than 275 publications, including book chapters and textbooks. The 3rd Edition of “Clinical Neurophysiology of the Vestibular System” in collaboration with Dr. Robert W. Baloh is being published this spring. He is involved in research and academic policies of national science organizations.

As a clinician, his sub-specialty is otololgy/neurotology and in a weekly clinic he evaluates patients who experience dizziness, vertigo, disequilibrium or imbalance. In addition to his clinical and research interest, Dr. Honrubia teaches and trains medical students and postdoctoral fellows.

Dr. Honrubia is also very involved in the continued advancement of minority students. In this regard, he is a member of the Admissions Committee at the School of Medicine, serves as mentor for the National Hispanic Mentor Recruitment Network and on the Board of Advisors and Directors at the UCLA Center of Excellence for Enhancing Minority Medical Education.
