Calcaterra, Thomas M.D., F.A.C.S.

Dr. Calcaterra confines his clinical practice to head and neck oncology and rhinology. Most head and neck tumor patients are referred by other physicians because of Dr. Calcaterra’s more than 30 years’ experience in the management of these tumors. All patients are evaluated for possible multidisciplinary treatment employing surgery, radiation therapy, chemotherapy, or maxillofacial rehabilitation. Experienced head and neck reconstructive surgeons work closely with Dr. Calcaterra to maximize post-operative appearance and function.

Dr. Calcaterra’s other area of clinical expertise deals with surgical management of chronic sinusitis. There are a number of surgical strategies that can be used successfully to control or eliminate chronic sinusitis. All operations emphasize minimally invasive techniques, usually accomplished through the nostril, which can access any of the sinus cavities to restore health to the infected sinuses. These operations are almost always performed on an outpatient basis in less than 1 hour of operating time.
