After graduating from medical school at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine (New York, NY), Dr. Yoo completed a general surgery residency at the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (Boston, MA). During residency Dr. Yoo completed a 2 year research fellowship at Harvard University and the University of Cincinnati studying barrier function in the GI tract. Upon completion of his residency he pursued further training in advanced laparoscopic colorectal techniques at New York Presbyterian Hospital (Weill Cornell Medical College, New York, NY), followed by a colon and rectal surgery fellowship at New York Presbyterian Hospital (Cornell and Columbia campuses, New York, NY).
