Patient Reported Outcomes

Overview
Patient reported outcomes are becoming increasing important in Surgery. Recent studies have shown that quality of life may be more important to patients than quantity of life – however there is a paucity of literature regarding quality of life in surgical patients. Rigorous evaluation of many surgical diseases and procedures is thus required, and the Center is well equipped to perform these key studies. Methodological experts, who perform quality of life, patient satisfaction, and functional outcome studies are part of the Core Group of Investigators for the Center, and together with the clinical expertise of the Surgery Faculty, are performing important clinical studies in this regard.
